We were so thrilled to see MXR collaborate with Randy's sister Kathy to create this amazing tribute!In just a few short years, Randy Rhoads revolutionized the art of the rock 'n' roll guitar player, merging fluid, classically inspired legato passages and melodies with searing, violin-like leads and super-saturated riffs. One of the most crucial components of this riveting sound was the MXR Distortion+, Randy harnessed its raw energy to slam his amplifier with a torrent of harmonics to create the sonic signature that would etch an indelible mark on music history.
MXR celebrates Randy's monumental legacy with this recreation of his own MXR Distortion+. For the first time in 42 years, the Rhoads family unveiled Randy’s pedalboard for the MXR design team at the family’s music school in Los Angeles—the Musonia School of Music. There, history was made as the MXR design team carefully opened the pedalboard, closely inspecting and documenting all they could from this rock ’n’ roll artifact. The engineers painstakingly spec'd Randy’s vintage Distortion+, with the direct involvement of sister Kathy Rhoads, and created this signature model to produce the same overdriven tube-like tones heard on Randy’s most beloved hits. And, of course, it’s only fitting that it comes with a custom finish inspired by Randy’s legendary "Concorde" guitar, that he designed with Grover Jackson in 1980.

A pain to put on the wall
4 stars only because to actually screw it into the wall you need either an angled screw driver, which we had to go buy, or a really really short screwdriver as the one that came with it is just a tad to long. Also the mollies that come with it our cheap and would not hold up on regular dry wall, which we found out, thank goodness, before we finished hanging it. As we were hanging it the top pulled right out of the wall. We had heavy duty ones at home already and used those. The shelf was a breeze to actually put together and once we got past the trouble of hanging it, is wonderful and looks great. So, 1. buy a better screwdriver, and 2. get heavy duty mollies.

Pretty and practical

I love the rustic wood and iron look. It’s sturdy, spacious, and exactly what I needed in my basement apartment. I ended up buying another one to make it one long shelving unit. I highly recommend them!

Very handsome and functional shelf with a ton of space!
I was looking for a black wall shelf to go above our coffee bar that included a bar with hanging hooks for empty glasses and a bar towel. This shelf met those needs, and I'm very impressed with it overall. It's a bit pricey for how simplistic it is, but it doesn’t feel or look cheap. Assembly and installation with the provided hardware was easy with help of a drill. The shelves are deep and work well for storage baskets and larger items. It’s a sharp-looking piece that really improved the look of our expanded coffee bar.
